Public hearing on municipal water systems set for March 23

    Warwick - A public hearing entitled “Cross Connections in Municipal Water Systems” will be held on Thursday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall. That also is the date and time of the next, regularly scheduled meeting of the Warwick Town Board. In other items from Supervisor Michael P. Sweeton’s office: • Renovations continue on the Greenwood Lake Public Beach prior to its opening for the 2006 season. Amenities will be added, Sweeton said, repeating his thanks to the Village of Greenwood Lake for its help in getting the beach off to a flying start. Meanwhile, the Warwick Recreation Committee is working with the town’s planner to complete the town-wide recreation study report. This should be available for public review in late April. • The AARP is providing FREE tax help for middle and low income seniors 60 or older on Thursdays Thursday at the Reformed Church in Warwick across from the hospital. Call 988-9517 for an appointment. • Orange County will hold another hazardous waste collection day on Friday, April 7, for businesses and Saturday, April 8, for residents. People must pre-register by Friday, March 24, by calling 1-800-328-4808. This service is free to all residents. • The town offers its congratulations to Bridget Clarke on being named “Celt of the Year” by the Greenwood Lake Gaelic Society.
