Provident Bank Wave-Mania coming To Warwick next Saturday

    Festival will attack more than 100 teams for cross-country invitational, By Tim St. Lawrence Warwick - Thanks to the generous sponsorship and spirit of the Provident Bank family, our youth student/runners will be striving together at the sixth Provident Bank Wave-Mania Cross Country Festival on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Sanfordville Elementary School in Warwick. This meet will be the largest cross country invitational in the history of the storied Hudson Valley. More than 105 boys and girls teams from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania will display the qualities of High School Educational Athletics - Sportsmanship, leadership and a healthy competitive spirit. Leading the sponsorship team from Provident Bank and connecting young people with opportunity are community leaders Tom Fitzgerald and Rick Jones and we salute their commitment in making this event memorable for all runners, parents, spectators and friends. The competition begins at 9:01 a.m. with the age-group freshman races, followed by the six varsity races for boys and girls teams beginning at 9:51 a.m. and concluding with the four junior varsity races beginning at 12:21 p.m. There also will be music, food and vendors at the festival all day for families and friends. Team buses will be parked at Sanfordville School; all spectator parking will be at the High School and Middle School complex with shuttle bus service. This course will be the site for this year’s state Public School X-Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 11. Tim St. Lawrence is the track coach at Warwick Valley High School.
