Provident Bank donates $5,000 to Winslow Center

WARWICK - The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $5,000 to Winslow Therapeutic Center in Warwick through its “Helping Hands for Children” program. Tom Fitzgerald, the assistant vice president of business development for the north region of Provident Bank, presented the check to Winslow officials on Dec. 28. “It’s important at this time of year that we reach out to help non-profit organizations that do so much good for our community,” Fitzgerald said. “Without people volunteering their time and others giving their dollars, organizations like Winslow could not exist. The Provident logo is Connecting people with opportunities’ and I feel we have to live that and believe in it. And through the Provident Bank Charitable Foundation we are proud that we can offer this grant to supplement scholarships for special needs children that cannot pay the full amount for this valuable program.” In accepting the donation, Winslow’s Board President Leo Kaytes said: “We see children and adults every day who improve their physical, cognitive, social and emotional well being by learning to ride in our therapeutic environment. Our staff and volunteers have made it possible for us to offer a unique and often life-changing horseback riding experience to children and adults in our community since 1974. Provident Bank has been involved in sponsorships for Winslow Therapeutic Center for many years and has always been a supporter.” Winslow Therapeutic Center, 328 Route 17A, is a non-profit organization accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.
