Provident Bank donates $5,000 to Winslow Center

WARWICK - Thomas Nash, vice president Provident Bank, presented a check for $5,000 from the Provident Bank Charitable Foundation to Winslow Therapeutic Center in Warwick on On Sept. 22. The award was provided through the generosity of Provident’s “Helping Hands for Children” program. Winslow Therapeutic Center, 328 Route 17A, is a non-profit organization accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. “Therapeutic horseback riding produces smiles, laughter, friendship, and healing,” said Winslow’s Executive Director Christine Tawpash. “We see children and adults every day who improve their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well being by learning to ride in our therapeutic environment. Our well trained and caring staff and volunteers have made it possible for us to offer a unique and often life-changing horseback riding experience to children and adults in our community since 1974.” The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation, Nash said, awards financial grants to qualifying non-profit organizations that provide services to the communities of Rockland, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Putnam Counties in New York and Bergen County in New Jersey. The foundation, he added, emphasizes supporting health and human services programs, as well as those benefiting education and youth programs. “Winslow Therapeutic Center provides educational programs, youth programs, and other programs to promote health and healing,” said Nash. “All of these are part of the Provident Bank Charitable Foundation’s Mission Statement and we are proud that we can help support this wonderful organization.”
