Pot-ted plants

It didn’t look like corn. An eagle-eyed passerby noticed something different growing among the corn in a farm along Round Hill Road in the Big Island section of the Town of Warwick. He called Warwick police, who notified the farmer that there were some weeds literally in with his plants. Police went to the farm and pulled out about 20 pounds of eight-foot tall marijuana plants Sunday morning. The plants were well-tended, according to Warwick Police Sgt. Alton Morley, who said the tall plants were on the edge of the Black Dirt field. Smaller ones were also found nearby in pots. The farmer, who Morley did not identify, knew nothing about the plants. Police continue to investigate, Morley said, and no arrests have been made as yet.
