Postcards are for vacations, not bills
Village will send out bills in full-size envelopes Warwick The Village of Warwick implemented a post card bill for water and sewer a little less than two years ago. It was going to be more efficient. Well, next week, water and sewer bills are going out again. This time, you won’t have to look through your magazines and catalogues for a simple, white postcard. The village is going back to full size bills in envelopes, complete with a return envelope. “We had switched to postcards thinking it would be more efficient,” said Mayor Michael Newhard. “They were not visible, not private. The postcards were easily lost in magazines or thrown out as junk mail. We are going back to bills in envelopes the full Monty.” The quarterly bills will be heading out within the next two weeks and Newhard said they will be much more visible than the postcards. Although the postcards may have saved a little money, it was not worth the aggravation. “We had many complaints, many lost bills,” said Newhard. “There were privacy issues and the cards were more vulnerable.” So, don’t worry about tossing that postcard bill any longer. They will find their way to your house safely in an envelope. The postcards you get in the mail are probably just from your friends wishing you were there.
