Polonaise Society announces scholarship winners

Goshen - The Hudson Valley Polonaise Society awarded its annual scholarship awards to high school graduates of Minisink Valley and Middletown high schools at its meeting in July. A $1,000 scholarship was presented to Ewelina Czapla, who will be entering George Washington University in Washington, D.C., this fall. Her ultimate goal is to become a lawyer. A graduate of Minisink Valley High School, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugeniusz Czapla of Westtown. Sara Fuller, a graduate of Middletown High School, was presented with a $500 scholarship which she will use toward attaining her goal of becoming a lawyer. She plans to attend Orange County Community College and Marist College. She is the daughter of Mrs. Darlene Fuller of Middletown, NY. The scholarships were awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement and individual contributions to school and community. As part of their application, the recipients were also asked to describe how their Polish heritage has influenced their lives and how they plan to promote their heritage and culture in the future. The HVPS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving the beautiful customs and traditions of Polish heritage.
