Pipeline comment period through Feb. 10
Warwick - Supervisor Michael Sweeton is inviting residents to comment on Columbia Gas Company’s Millennium pipeline. According to information from the supervisor’s office, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is preparing a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for a slight variation of the approved plan in the Pine Island area near Merritt’s Island. A copy is on display at the Albert Wisner Library and at town hall. Public comments can be submitted to Magalie R. Salas, Secretary, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First St., N.E., Room 1A, Washington, D.C. 20426, Attn. Gas Branch 2. Reference Phase I Project CP98-150-006 and 007. Comments must reach Washington by Feb. 10. Sweeton said residents may file their comments online by following the instructions at www.ferc.gov. The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall, 132 Kings Highway.
