Patients give St. Anthony Community Hospital high marks

    WARWICK n St. Anthony Community Hospital was recently honored with 12 national patient satisfaction awards, including "National Top Performer" awards for Obstetrics/Gynecology and Inpatient Services. St. Anthony received the awards as a result of patient satisfaction surveys conducted for the hospital in 2003 by Professional Research Consultants of Lincoln, Neb., a national marketing research and consulting firm dedicated solely to the health care industry. In 2002, the hospital won four national patient satisfaction awards. "St. Anthony has always been at the forefront in patient satisfaction, both regionally, and nationally," said Leah Cerkvenik, Executive Vice President/Administrator, and St. Anthony Community Hospital. "The personal, one-on-one relationship between our staff has and our patients make our hospital different." To earn a Top Performer award, a hospital's patient satisfaction rating must surpass the ratings of all hospitals conducting surveys across the United States. In addition to the Top Performer awards, the hospital received a 5 Star award for its Outpatient Surgery department and a 4 Star award for its Emergency Department. Hospitals in the top 90th percentile of excellent responses earn 5 Stars, while 4-Star ratings are based on finishing in the top 75th n 89th percentile.
