Orange County offers EMT courses, beginning Feb. 1

    GOSHEN — Applications are now being accepted for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses that will begin soon at the Orange County Emergency Services Center, located at 22 Wells Farm Road in Goshen. The EMT-B original course will be offered from 7 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The New York State Certification Examination will be on Thursday, June 21, 2012. Students are required to purchase their own textbooks, workbooks and pocket mask. The EMT-B challenge/refresher course will be offered from 7 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The New York State Certification Examination will be held on Thursday, June 21. Participants must send a copy of their EMT certification card along with their application, and are required to have their own pocket mask. The application may also now be downloaded, completed and returned via email. Incomplete applications will not be accepted, the deputy commissioner advised.
