One sure sign of Spring: Trash pick-up is scheduled
Warwick - The Village of Warwick will begin a Spring pick-up of household items in April when residents will be able to discard such items as furniture, mattresses and rugs. The items that the Department of Public Works will not pick up include: Garbage, leaves, brush, tires, barrels, paint, drain oil, newspapers, construction or building material, televisions, computer equipment and appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers or stoves. All items must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of the week your area is scheduled for pick-up; once the area has been picked up there will be no return trips, according to DPW Supervisor Steve Sisco. The village will be divided into two areas. The following are the dates and areas to be picked up: Week of April 17 High Street, Church Street, Forester Avenue north of the railroad tracks, Colonial Avenue, north side of Grand Street to the corporation line of Locust Street, Maple Avenue and all streets within the area. South side of West Street to the corporation line and Division Street, Howe Street and all streets within this area to the west side of Oakland Avenue and including Campbell Road. Week of April 24 East side of Oakland Avenue to Forester Avenue at the railroad tracks to Galloway Road on the north side. South side of Galloway Road, Homestead Village area, Hawthorne Avenue, Overlook Drive, South Street Ext. and Southern Lane to the corporation line of Brady Road. Gordon Terrace and Ridgefield Road.
