The meet concluded the students’ track and field unit in Physical Education. In this event the students did a 50-meter sprint, 50-meter hurdles, a high jump, a long jump, a standing broad jump, discuss, shot put, soft ball throw and Frisbee throw. The students had been preparing for this highly anticipated event for almost a month. Becoming more earth friendly Last week at Sanfordville Elementary School, Deb Keene from the Orange County Water Authority (OCWA) came in to teach students about water in the environment and how to conserve it. The county Water Authority, which also is known as a “groundwater guardian,” was established to address the long-term water needs of Orange County. The water authority also has been recognized for its local programs to protect water resources. Ms. Keene used interactive, hands-on activities in her presentation to students.
