Members of the Warwick Police Department participated in the national “Ride to Work Day” on June 20. The effort recognizes the advantages of motorcycles versus automobiles for commuting and as a legitimate mode of personal transportation. According to Police Chief Thomas McGovern Jr., the Warwick Police Department also utilizes motorcycles as patrol vehicles because they are inexpensive, efficient (40 mpg), produce less pollutants and navigate traffic congestion better than automobiles.
