NEW WINDSOR — The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is seeking the public's help in compiling stories and recollections about the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. As the 70th anniversary of the attack that launched the United States into World War II approaches, officials at the hall are asking anyone in the Hudson Valley region who has memories of Pearl Harbor to contribute their story or the story of someone in their family. Stories will be videotaped and included in the Purple Heart Hall of Honor's Pearl Harbor 70th anniversary commemoration this Dec. 7, as well as for future programs. People can contact the museum to arrange a time to tell their story. The museum is located at the New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site, near West Point.
