Nominees sought for senior citizens awards

    GOSHEN — The Orange County Office for the Aging is taking nominations for the 2006 Orange County Senior Awards Program. The office is looking for adults over 60 years of age who deserve to be recognized for their achievements as outstanding citizens, because they have volunteered their time and talents to better their community. The office will sponsor awards in two categories: “Orange County Senior Citizen of the Year” and “Outstanding Contribution by a Senior.” Award winners will be announced in May by County Executive Edward A. Diana, be honored at a luncheon by the Orange County Senior Citizen Council, and receive their awards at the Senior Forum on Friday, June 23. Applications are due before Friday, March 24.
