Nominations sought for volunteer awards

    Goshen — State Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt, a Republican Conservative from Greenwood Lake, is accepting nominations to honor district residents who have demonstrated their willingness to enhance the quality of life in Orange and Rockland Counties through volunteerism. Awards will be given in the categories of: Volunteer Firefighter of the Year, Volunteer EMT of the Year, Senior Citizen Volunteer of the Year, Youth Volunteer of the Year, and Citizen of the Year. Nominees must reside in Rabbitt’s district, which includes the towns of Goshen, Hamptonburgh, Monroe, Mount Hope, Ramapo, Tuxedo, Wallkill, and Warwick. The date and location of a ceremony to honor the award recipients will be announced at a later date. “Whether it’s saving families and properties from fire, delivering meals-on-wheels to seniors, or inspiring young people, volunteers are often the unsung heroes of our communities,” said Rabbitt. “I have established these awards so that we can show our appreciation for the caring work of these outstanding individuals.” Nominations, of no more than 300 words each, must be submitted by Wednesday, March 15, to: Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt, 41 High Street, Goshen NY 10924.
