No opposition in Florida, Greenwood Lake village elections
All incumbents running on Election Day, March 18 All incumbents are seeking reelection in the villages of Florida and Greenwood Lake all are unopposed. In Florida, Mayor James Pawliczek is seeking his fourth two-year term. This will be his first with no opposition. In 2002 he challenged and unseated longtime mayor Jake Harter for the village’s top job. In 2004, he faced a challenge from Trustee Joe Coleman. Two years ago he defeated Edward Mythen. Trustees Thomas Fuller and Thomas Chevrier also face no opposition. Fuller is going for his fourth term; Chevrier his third. The salary for the trustees in Florida is $3,700 per year. The mayor’s job pays $7,400 each year. In Greenwood Lake, Agnes Kilduff and Brian Fisher will retain their seats on the board of trustees. Kilduff has served on the board for six years. Fisher was elected to his first term in 2006. Their terms are two years and the salary is $3,600 per year. Election day is March 18 in all of the villages. Voting in both Florida and Greenwood Lake will be held from noon to 9 p.m. at their respective senior centers. In Florida, the center is located on Cohen Circle behind Village Hall; in Greenwood Lake, it is located on Windemere Avenue. Absentee ballots are available from the Village Clerk’s office.
