Pine Island - Two photographs of Pine Island taken by photographer Nick Zungoli have been published as post cards, the first in a series being produced by the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce to celebrate art in agriculture. Zungoli’s original fine art photographs and posters have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and are included in distinguished private collections. The originals of the post cards are available at his Exposures Gallery in Sugar Loaf. The post cards, which will cost 70 cents, show Little York, seen from across a field of wildflowers, and Mt. Adam and Mt. Eve, as a backdrop to a serene farm scene. The Pine Island Chamber of Commerce is producing the post cards as part of an ongoing series designed to emphasize the enduring beauty of Pine Island’s black dirt region. Two more post cards by other photographer’s will be produced later this year. Proceeds from sale of the cards, which will be available in Pine Island stores, will go toward major beautification plans for the hamlet. The first two cards in the series will be officially launched at the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce business mixer at the home of Chamber President Cheetah Haysom da Parma on June 28, 5:30-8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Reservations required. For information, call 845-321-3522 or send an e-mail to pineislandchamber@yahoo.com.
