    Here’s the latest about the academic successes of young people from the area: • Meghan T. Markiewicz of Warwick has graduated from Fordham University, Rose Hill campus, with a bachelor of science degree. She majored in psychology and communications. She also was named to the dean’s list for the 2006n07 academic year. • Alan Akacki of Warwick has graduated from the College of Saint Rose in Albany with a bachelor’s degree in science. The following students were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the College of Saint Rose: • Jennifer Caulkin of Warwick. • Christopher Dagele of Florida. • Ellen Dagele of Florida. • Kimberly Zis of Florida. • Richard Osmer of the Village of Florida, was named to the dean’s list at the State University of New York at Albany, where he is enrolled in the Japanese Studies program. Osmer, a 2006 National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars member, will spend the next two semesters studying at Kansai Gaidai Univesity in Japan. He is the son of Paul R. Osmer. • Melissa Folkl of the Village of Florida has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at SUNY Cortland. The 2004 graduate of S.S. Seward Institute is studying elementary education. She is the daughter of Walter and Carol Folkl. The following students were named to the dean’s list of Binghamton University’s Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science for the spring semester: • Matthew A. Giliotti of Warwick. • James E. Warner of Warwick. • Luke Sattler of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list at Hartwick College in Oneonta for the spring semester. Sattler is a junior studying geology. At Hartwick, he also has participated in cross country, varsity indoor track and field, Delta Delta G and the honors program. He is the son of Deborah and Edward Sattler. • Thomas Cronin of Warwick, a graduate of Warwick Valley High School, will be among 175 freshmen enrolled in the Honors College at the University at Albany for the fall semester. The Honors College provides motivated students with special learning opportunities, including a year-long research experience in their senior year, community service learning projects, and preparation to successfully compete for national and international scholarships. • Brian Romanczyk, the son of Judy and Vince Romanczyk of Warwick, has enrolled for fall 2007 admission at Rochester Institute of Technology. Romanczyk, recipient of an RIT Presidential Scholarship, will major in microelectronic engineering in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering. Brian is a June 2007 Warwick Valley High School graduate.
