New Warwick town beach is open

Warwick-It took a little longer than expected, but the new town beach on Greenwood Lake is now open for business. Councilwoman Annie Rabbitt said the beach officially opened over July 4th weekend and the turnout was good. The town had hoped to open the new beach for the Memorial Day Weekend. That was not the case, needing final approvals from the Orange County Department of Health. The town received those approvals at the end of June and residents have been enjoying the beach ever since. The town purchased the beach with Purchase of Development Rights funds. It is the second beach run by the town. The other, off Gamache Lane, is also open to the public daily.
