New Warwick senior center to open June 1

    WARWICK-The Town of Warwick will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the new Senior Center, which is located behind the Town Hall, on Wednesday, June 1, at noon. This center, a joint venture between the town and Orange County Community Development, will provide increased meeting space in a pleasant, safe environment for the enjoyment of our senior citizens. Additional parking will be provided in the lower lot next to the police station with a shuttle bus provided to bring people attending the ceremony to the center. Supervisor Michael P. Sweeton asks residents interested in attending to call his office at 986-1120 x 241 to confirm your attendance. Other items from Sweeton's office include: • The Week of May 15-21 has been declared Emergency Medical Services Week in the Town of Warwick. Our medical professionals, volunteer ambulance members and volunteer fire fighters stand ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide vital life-saving care. Please join me in saying thank you to these great volunteers. • A public hearing entitled "2006 HUD Project Solicitation" will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 7 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall. • A public hearing entitled "Extension of the Pine Island Water District" will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 7:15 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall. • The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall, 132 Kings Highway.
