WARWICK-The Albert Wisner Public Library will present preliminary plans for a new library building on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m in the Warwick Town Hall on Kings Highway. Architect Paul Mays, from Butler Rowland and Mays Architects in Mechanicville, will present the design for the new library to be situated on land off McFarland Road. A discussion will follow. At two community brainstorming sessions in 2003, participants requested a space with light and openness to the outside environment that would provide a variety of areas for different uses as well as adequate parking. They also felt strongly that it should reflect the historical and agricultural heritage of the Warwick area. The land for the new library is a gift from Warwick Grove and is expected to be transferred to the library early in 2005. The library can then submit its plans to the state Education Department for review and approval. Upon their approval, the library can set a date for a referendum. For more information, call 986-1047.
