Neil Sinclair to head Warwick Rotarians

WARWICK n Neil Sinclair, an electronics importer, takes over the helm of the Warwick Valley Rotary Club this month. He’ll serve as president of the 40-plus member local chapter of Rotary International. Stan Martin is the new president-elect and Ed Lynch will serve as vice president. Other officers for 2007-2008 include Alan Fernandez, recording secretary; Eric Heffler, corresponding secretary; Lisette Cuba, treasurer; and Allen Quigley, past president and assistant treasurer. Elected to the board of directors are Maggie Verhagen, community service; Brenda Harburger, club service; Jim Aronson and Ed Maddalena, international service; Greg Klein, vocational service; and Cal Hargis, membership service. David C. Green, an Orange County Board of Elections commissioner and assistant Rotary district governor, performed the oath of office during the 31st annual Warwick Rotary installation dinner June 20 at the Warwick Valley Winery. Leo Kaytes, a former Rotary president and long-time board member for the Rotarians as well as several other local organizations, was named “Rotarian of the Year.” “Leo has so many award plaques on his wall,” quipped outgoing Rotary President Allen Quigley, “that we decided to give him a golf shirt with the inscription ‘Warwick Rotarian of the Year.’” Quigley was also honored with a citation for the Warwick Club’s achieving a lengthy list of goals set by Rotary International, a world-wide service organization of business and professional men and women. There are over 32,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Warwick Rotarians help sponsor dozens of local projects and organizations through donations and volunteering of time. The local Rotarians also sponsor the Warwick Valley High School Interact Club, which has approximately 160 members. Jeanine Fogler is the Interact advisor.
