More than 2,000 feast on Taste of the Town'

Warwick - More than 2,000 people participated Tuesday in the third annual “Taste of the Town” event sponsored by St. Stephen n St. Edward School and Parish. “The community support was great, as usual,” said Mary Juliano, who chaired the event. “We look forward to next year already our date next year is May 13 and it does not conflict with the (school) budget vote. We hope it will ease some of the congestion and conflict we have experienced over these three years.” The event featured 17 local restaurants and three wineries: The Copper Bottom, Goshen Gormet Café, Landmark Inn, Carriage Path Café, Old San Juan, Fine Delicatessen, Russo Brothers Zeppoles, Bellvale Creamery, Janet’s Quality Baked Goods, Iron Forge Inn, Lisa’s Cookies, Pennings Harvest Grill, Latour, JW Tavern, Bravo Pizza, Applewood Winery, Demerest Winery and Warwick Valley Winery. Quick Chek served as gold sponsor with a donation of $5,000.00; Toys R’ Us and Provident Bank each donated $3,000 as silver sponsors. Sony Products, Jockey Hollow Veterinary Practice, John S. Juliano, Orthopedic Surgeon, Material Processors and Interiors by Decorating Den were bronze-level sponsors at $1,000 each. Winners of the Third Annual Culinary Salon were: Pennings Harvest Grill of Warwick, first place; Old San Juan of Greenwood Lake, second place; and JW Tavern, also of Greenwood Lake, third place.
