Middle School Drama Club hosts silent auction this Saturday

Warwick - Brand new treasures, goods and services await your bid at the silent auction scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Warwick Valley Middle School to benefit the Drama Club. Generous donations of goods and services from a lengthy list of area businesses include such hot ticket items as jewelry, restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets, ski lift passes and theatre tickets (including two tickets to “A Christmas Carole” at The Lycian Theatre). According to music teacher and Drama Club Advisor Noreen Hanson, among one of the most unusual items to bid on this year is a chance to become a character in a new book by author S.L. Linea titled “Return to Eden,” the next in the Eden Thriller series, which will be published by St. Martin’s Press in October 2008. The winning bidder will receive signed copies of the first two books, “Chasing Eden” and “Beyond Eden,” as well as a certificate of characterization and three signed copies of “Return to Eden” when it is published next October. With a current enrollment of more than 140 students in grades six through eight, the Middle School Drama Club will be mounting the full-scale musical Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” this coming spring. Proceeds from the silent auction will help offset costs for the production. For information, call 987-3100.
