Michael Pillmeier re-elected chairman of Orange County Legislature

GOSHEN — Michael R. Pillmeier, the Republican from the Village of Florida, has been unanimously re-elected as chairman of the Orange County Legislature for a third term. Pillmeier is the 12th chair of the Orange County Legislature since the county moved from a Board of Supervisors to a legislative form of government in 1970. He represents the 3rd Legislative District which is comprised of the Towns of Minisink, Warwick and the Villages of Florida, Unionville and Warwick. Pillmeier has also been a member of the Florida Volunteer Fire Department for more than 40 years and has served as the department’s fire chief. He is a member of the Fire Chief’s Association and is on the board of the Orange County Soil & Water Conservation District. “It is thanks to my family, especially my wife Marie, that I am able to tackle the duties and responsibilities that come with being Chairman of the Legislature,” Pillmeier said in a press release announcing his election. “I am also grateful to the County Executive and my fellow legislators for sharing their time and expertise with me for the benefit of our County and the people we serve.
