Montgomery - On Sunday, May 7, the Orange County Arboretum was the scene of an emotional, but uplifting dedication of the Vincent Kosuga Memorial Greenhouse and Classroom. With the grounds, flower beds, and walkways in full spring bloom, the state of the art greenhouse provided a seemingly logical and natural addition to the garden complex. A plaque was unveiled which read: “The Vincent Kosuga Memorial Greenhouse And Classroom. Dedicated to the residents of Orange County for their horticultural education and in appreciation of Vincent’s numerous contributions to others by his devoted and loving wife. Pauline “Polly” Kosuga.” The ever-smiling Polly, together with her family, had the honor of cutting the ceremonial ribbon. The program began with an invocation by Graham M. Skea, former County Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, and ended with refreshments in the Ruth and Jim Ottaway Education Center. In between were comments made by a long list of dignitaries, county officials and friends of the Arboretum. Tucked in a corner of the Thomas Bull Memorial Park, the Arboretum is truly Orange County’s own mini Garden of Eden.
