WARWICK — Totally TaeKwonDo, the internationally distributed magazine featuring the traditional Korean martial art and Olympic sport of taekwondo, has selected Chosun Taekwondo Academy head instructor Master Doug Cook for the cover of its October 2011 issue. Cook was selected from thousands of potential candidates based on “his numerous contributions and literary commitment to the art,” according to Master Stuart Anslow, publisher. Included in the most recent edition is an eight-page interview with Cook describing the curriculum featured at the academy, his relationship with Grandmaster Richard Chun, a legend and pioneer of taekwondo, and his views concerning the future of the art. A 6th dan black belt, Cook has authored three best-selling books entitled: Taekwondo…Ancient Wisdom for the Modern Warrior, Traditional Taekwondo - Core Techniques, History and Philosophy, and Taekwondo-A Path to Excellence, all published by YMAA of Boston. The Chosun Taekwondo Academy, located at 62 Main St. in Warwick, is a professional, full-time martial arts institute offering a variety of programs for adults and children of all ages.
