Man charged with robbing store at knife point

    Chester — The Village of Chester Police filed charges on Oct. 11 against Leonard Dolson of Monroe for robbing the Cumberland Farms Convenience Store at knife point. Cumberland Farms is located on Route 17M in the Village of Chester. The robbery happened just after midnight on Aug. 25. The charges against Dolson include robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, and petit larceny. The investigation was made in coordination with the New State Police and the Town of Cornwall Police. It found that Dolson walked into the store, held a knife to the clerk, and demanded cash. He also stole two cartons of cigarettes before leaving the store. The clerk was not injured. The state police apprehended Dolson for the larceny of a motor vehicle on Aug. 26. He has also been charged with a similar robbery of a Cumberland Farms store in the Town of Cornwall.
