Main Street railroad crossing malfunctions

Although the railroad company recently performed extensive repairs to solve the frequent crossing gate problems at Warwick’s Main and South streets, local merchants and others are still wondering. Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, the Main Street railroad crossing gates remained in the closed position shortly after a train passed. Drivers and downtown merchants were upset that Main Street had to be closed by police and traffic redirected during the busiest part of the day. Fortunately the gate was repaired in time for the next day celebration of Applefest. (Photo by Roger Gavan)
