WARWICK - ShopRite Supermarkets and its employees in Monroe, Warwick and Montague, N.J., have donated $3,665 to St. Anthony Community Hospital’s expansion project through its “Buy a Brick Campaign.” From Aug. 13 to 26, cashiers at six area ShopRite stores raised money by selling $1 and $5 paper “bricks” directly at their registers. ShopRite had offered awards and prizes for those stores and individual cashiers who raised the most money by selling “bricks.” Monroe ShopRite won first place, Warwick second and Montague, N.J., third. Kareen Anderson, who works at Chester ShopRite, was first among the cashiers. Dotty Schweger, a cashier at the Montague ShopRite, was second and William Vidulich from Warwick ShopRite, won the third prize. Other participating ShopRite stores included the two locations in the Middletown area. The “Buy a Brick Campaign” was a part of the Bon Secours Warwick Health Foundation’s Annual Fund Drive Program, which has recently raised more than $100,000 through various events and campaigns such as this year’s Great Warwick Wine and Dine event, the St. Anthony Community Hospital Classic Car Show, a community cocktail reception and direct mailings.
