‘You just got to grove’

WARWICK — Avram Pengas and the Noga Group will appear in concert Friday evening, July 19, at the Albert Wisner Public Library beginning at 7 p.m.

The Noga Group has been a staple of New York ‘s downtown music scene for nearly 20years. The music, which critics describe as fresh, innovative, modern and infectious, is rooted in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.

“You don’t have to know anything about the musical cultures we draw from,” Pengas said in an interview. “You’ve just got to groove.”

This concert is made possible by a donation by Donna Applegate and Jonah Mandelbaum to the AWPL Foundation.

Concert will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Feel free to bring a beach chair or blanket. In case of rain the concert will move into the library’s Community Room.
