Over $10,000 was raised during the recent South Orange Family YMCA’s 5K Color Run and Kids Color Dash, one of the community’s most popular annual events.
The funds will now benefit the Y’s annual Strong Kids Campaign, making it possible for the Y to provide local families with financial assistance for Y programs and services.
There were 178 5K runners and 80 children participating in the event.
Top vendors were Todd Lyons Paving, WK Mechanical Heating & Cooling, Stratagem Securities, Edible Arrangements, Monroe Pediatrics, McDonalds of Monroe, The Captain’s Table, Orange County Rentals, A Plus Striping, Mercedes Benz of Orange County, The Learning Experience and Mondovi Dental in addition to 20 local vendors who participated in the day.
“A special thanks to the Monroe Police Department, the Village of Monroe and the Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps for always being there to support the community,” added Michele Bernieri, the Y’s wellness director.
