— On a recent trip to Wall Street in New York City, students from Warwick Valley High School’s Investment Club had the rare opportunity to visit the New York Stock Exchange.

Since Sept. 11, 2001, there have been no public tours of the Exchange. The exclusive visit was arranged by Emmanuel Reiser, a Forbes list top 500 broker for Wells Fargo and the father of club member Ben Reiser.

Club advisor and high school economics teacher Doug Torgersen accepted the invitation to bring 12 club members on the trip.

The students met with representatives of the stock exchange and were on the floor during the ringing of the opening bell.

“This was an incredible opportunity for our students to meet professionals in the industry,” said Torgersen, “and to visit such an iconic institution.”
