WARWICK —Warwick Valley High School student Rachel Knuth has organized a fashion show sponsered by Mandee’s to benefit the Warwick Valley Food Pantry.

The show, which will be held Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m., in the Warwick Valley High School auditorium, is Rachel’s senior project. Admission is $3.

“I chose to do a fashion show because I am going to be majoring in fashion merchandising in college and I go to Orange Ulster BOCES for fashion and interior design,” Rachel wrote in an e-mail exchange with The Warwick Advertiser. “ I really enjoy fashion and thought a fashion show would help me get more advanced in the career I’m pursuing.

“I chose the food pantry,” she added, “because I wanted the proceeds to go to something in Warwick and I thought that the food pantry would really help people directly in Warwick.”

The young woman also discussed the impact that her senior project has had.

“Organizing senior project has been a very big step in my life,” Rachel wrote. “I usually don’t organize events or do anything out of the ordinary. But senior project has let me talk to people and become a little less shy. It has let me see that if I work hard enough I can pull off a fashion show and who knows what else I can do.

“Senior project is a great experience,” she added. “You go through some rough times trying to figure out your project and how your going to pull it all together, but I know its going to be worth it in the end.”
