WVHS senior organizes fashion show to benefit food pantry

WARWICK Warwick Valley High School student Rachel Knuth has organized a fashion show sponsered by Mandees to benefit the Warwick Valley Food Pantry.
The show, which will be held Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m., in the Warwick Valley High School auditorium, is Rachels senior project. Admission is $3.
I chose to do a fashion show because I am going to be majoring in fashion merchandising in college and I go to Orange Ulster BOCES for fashion and interior design, Rachel wrote in an e-mail exchange with The Warwick Advertiser. I really enjoy fashion and thought a fashion show would help me get more advanced in the career Im pursuing.
I chose the food pantry, she added, because I wanted the proceeds to go to something in Warwick and I thought that the food pantry would really help people directly in Warwick.
The young woman also discussed the impact that her senior project has had.
Organizing senior project has been a very big step in my life, Rachel wrote. I usually dont organize events or do anything out of the ordinary. But senior project has let me talk to people and become a little less shy. It has let me see that if I work hard enough I can pull off a fashion show and who knows what else I can do.
Senior project is a great experience, she added. You go through some rough times trying to figure out your project and how your going to pull it all together, but I know its going to be worth it in the end.
