WVHS Interact holiday food drive brings in 3,000 food items

WARWICK — The Warwick Valley High School students, staff and faculty have donated nearly 3,000 food items as part of the Interact Club’s annual holiday food drive.
Packed boxes were delivered to 25 designated senior citizen families just before Thanksgiving; the extra food will be used to assemble another 25 boxes for Christmas. All remaining food will be delivered to local food pantries.
Those involved are Interact Club Advisor Jeanine Fogler, student teacher Jon Rose, Julissa Sanabria, Gianna Rotondo, Maleek Nichols, as well as other students.
Interact officers are Franklin Helmen, president; Tristan Protzman, vice president; Alyssa Hobart, secretary; Brianna Weiss, treasurer; and Gabriella Trimlett, historian.
"The Interact Club appreciates the generosity of the many high school faculty, staff and students who donated to this food drive, allowing Warwick Valley High School to once again support those in need in our community," club members said in the press release detailing the success of the food drive.
