WARWICK — Get ready to meet the hilarious Turpin family when they descend on Warwick Valley High School this November in the WVHS Drama Club's presentation of the comedy, "Dearly Departed."
Originally produced by the Drama Club in 2007, new audience members will get to meet the Turpins as they prove that living and dying in the South are seldom tidy and always hilarious.
Brought together as a result of the passing of the family's patriarch, Bud, the characters reflect on life, death and family as they prepare for the funeral.
Amidst the chaos, the Turpins turn for comfort to their friends and neighbors, an eccentric community of misfits who just manage to pull together and help each other through their hours of need and, finally, the funeral.
You may just see yourself or you own family in this hysterical play.
The club’s long-time director, Nick DiLeo, who also directed the original version, is at the helm once again.
"Dearly Departed" will be presented at Warwick Valley High School on Nov. 2, 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. each evening.
There will be no advance tickets sold for this production; all tickets purchases will be made at the box office when it opens one hour before the curtain.
Tickets are $8 general admission and $6 for senior citizens.
DiLeo noted that this production is not recommended for our younger audience members.
