WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School student Daniel McQuade has been named the 2016 "Youth With Exceptional Promise" recipient.
Each year, the Orange County Arts Council recognizes individuals, organizations and corporations who have made outstanding contributions to the arts in the county.
McQuade is this year’s student recipient. After reviewing many applicants, the panel of judges was impressed with McQuade's extensive and diverse portfolio in painting, sculpture, set design, special effect makeup and photography.
This is the ninth year that the Orange Art Council has recognized outstanding artists and students within Orange County.
In past years, 2015 Warwick graduate Lexie Zarow and 2010 Warwick graduate Sara Giarratano also received this prestigious award.
Zarow is currently studying for her BFA in Digital Arts and Game Design at Northeastern University’s College of Arts while Giarratano studied Fine Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design.
The awards will be presented at a gala on Friday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m., at the Motorcyclepedia Museum in Newburgh.
