WARWICK — The New York Agri-Women organization will host a tour of Hudson Valley agriculture on March 5. The tour begins at the Kiernan Farm and Blueberry Inn at 1308 Bruynswick Road in Gardiner and concludes with a visit to Pennings Orchard and Farm Market, 161 Route 94 South in Warwick.

Members of the Agri-Women association, along with the general public, are invited to participate. The WELI (Women, Empowerment, Life, Improvement Association) group of Japan will also be participating in the tour.

Christine Rolando, the district leader of New York Agri-Women, said the tour includes all aspects of agriculture in the Hudson Valley. Participants will have the opportunity to taste value-added dairy products; tour the Black Dirt region; and visit the Harvest Grill and Apple Grader Brew Pub, which features microbrews, world-class ciders, and boutique wines. In all, seven businesses will be featured on the self-drive tour.

The Warwick Valley High School Future Farmers of America will also participate in a reception to be held at the Peace Wall Memorial in Warwick, which was created in honor of those who died Sept. 11, 2001.

The tour cost is $25. A complete itinerary and registration form for the self-drive tour can be found at http://newyorkagriwomen.com/. For more information, call 845-494-6257 or e-mail horses@warwick.net.
