WARWICK — It's new, it's exciting, it's fun and it's reasonably priced.
On Saturday evening, Sept. 10, in a departure from the annual Denim and Diamonds Gala fund raiser, Winslow Therapeutic Center will host Denim Derby, a night at the races, at the Red Tail Lodge in nearby Vernon, N.J.
The event, which includes a beefsteak dinner with beer and soft drinks, a cash bar, auction and music, will celebrate Winslow's 42 years of service.
One of the highlights of the evening will be that guests will also have an opportunity to win prizes on horse races shown on big screen TVs.
Tickets are $50 and all proceeds will go toward expanding and enhancing programs at Winslow Therapeutic Center.
Winslow is a not for profit Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding Center accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association and devoted to the special needs population of Orange and surrounding counties.
The center, located on 100 acres just off Route 17A in Warwick, has been offering unique horseback riding experiences to children and adults in this community since 1974.
In addition to sponsorship opportunities ranging from $100 to $2,500 for the Denim Derby, the "Winslow Courier," produced through Straus News, will be distributed at the Gala. It will also be circulated in the Advertiser-News and The Warwick Advertiser, and will reach more than 20,000 homes and businesses in this area.
Tickets and sponsorships are available for the Denim Derby by contacting Winslow Therapeutic Riding at 986-6686.
