Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center Duck Derby returns May 17

Warwick. The 35th annual event will bring thousands of ducks to Wawayanda Creek.

Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center will host its thirty fifth annual Duck Derby on Sunday, May 17, at the Warwick Valley Farmers Market, bringing thousands of floating yellow ducks to the Wawayanda Creek

Spectators are invited to watch the action from any bridge along the creek in the Village of Warwick, stretching from the South Street Allstate bridge to the Oakland Avenue railroad crossing bridge.

The race begins at 1:30 p.m., when members of the Winslow Duck Derby Team will release thousands of individually numbered ducks into the creek at 16 South Street. The first eight ducks to cross the finish line will win prizes donated by local sponsors.

This year’s prizes include:

First Prize: $1,000 Cash — sponsored by Vogel & Moore Insurance

Second Prize: Apple iPad Mini — sponsored by Leo Kaytes Ford

Third Prize: Nintendo Switch — sponsored by Ryan O’Leary, Financial Advisor, CFP, Edward Jones

Duck Derby tickets are available for a $5 donation per individually numbered duck. Tickets can be purchased locally at Albert Wisner Library, Frazzleberries Country Store, Newhard’s The Home Source, Peck’s Wine & Spirits, Walden Savings Bank, and Wine Time of Florida.
