Winslow Therapeutic Center announces summer programs

WARWICK — Yes. It's cold outside and there is still snow on the ground.
But spring is near and summer will be here before we know it.
Winslow Therapeutic Center, 1433 Route 17A in Warwick, is already gearing up to have a great summer of horsemanship, crafts, games, leadership skills and more for kids of all ages.
If your child is in 7th, 8th or 9th grades, you can help them get ready for High School with Winslow's Summer Leadership Academy.
The free program is funded by Youth Bureau of Orange County.
Enrollment is limited to 15 students and selection is based on an application and interview process.
This program runs for four weeks from July 6 to July 31 and features riding, volunteer training, leadership skills, team building and much more.
And if your child is 7-12 years old you can sign him or her up for one of Winslow's week long Summer Adventures.
Summer Adventures runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from July 6 through August 28.
Every week of Summer Adventures has a different theme related to life on the farm.
For example ride bare back and paint a live horse during Native American Week. During Western Week you can learn all about riding western style and compete in barrel racing. Or enjoy the carriage rides of Colonial Week. And there is much more.
Every week includes horseback riding, grooming, tacking, feeding and spending time with horses.
Register for one week or attend all seven. Cost is just $275 per week.
