— It's been described as a charming shop, filled with local art and having a warm Warwick feel with its stock of mostly smaller family-owned wines and liquors that are organically produced.
On Nov. 1, state and town officials and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined owner Mark Chisholm and his family and staff, along with a large number of friends and associates, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Guests were also treated to a wine tasting and food pairing.
Wine Time is a locally family owned store located on Route 94 North in the Flowick Plaza, two miles outside the Village of Warwick.
It will be celebrating its one-year anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 8, with a customer appreciation party.
And this Saturday, Nov. 17, Wine Time will host a Wine, Liquor and Doc's Cider Tasting EXPO at the shop featuring food, beverages and live music by Alexa from 1 to 5 p.m.
The stated focus at Wine Time is to teach, train and educate consumers so that they can make better purchasing decisions when buying wine and liquor.
Chisholm, who grew up in Warwick, has served in the wine and liquor industry for the past 25 years, traveling to hundreds of wineries around the world.
His last corporate position was national sales manager for a small family-owned winery in Sonoma County California.
He also hosts a radio program, "Wine Time," which airs on WTBQ (1110AM/93.5 FM) every Saturday at 10 a.m.
"A smaller production wine," said Chisholm, "tastes better, contains less harmful sulfites and has more health benefits for the consumer."
He also encourages his customers to drink wine, not labels.
"We carry all the national brands," said Chisholm, "but encourage our guests to try something new, something much better for their hard earned money."
Wine Time gives a 25 per cent discount on any case of wine. And you can mix and match.
In addition, Chisholm said that the shop offers great prices on wine and liquor and has the only dedicated tasting bar in the Warwick area.
