Wine cellar at Chateau Hathorn available for private parties

WARWICK — The Chateau Hathorn Restaurant, 33 Hathorn Road, Warwick, has one of the best-kept secrets in the area.
The wine cellar under the kitchen and main dining rooms at the base of a stone staircase is available as a perfect holiday and year round intimate setting for small parties.
Guests can celebrate special occasions and corporate events while enjoying a gourmet/wine tasting meal. And you will be seated at a hand crafted table surrounded by 15,000 bottles of wine representing more than 800 varieties of wines.
The Chateau Hathorn's Wine Cellar has consecutively received the "Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator magazine.
Sandra Zueger, manager of the classic restaurant, lounge, bed and breakfast and wedding facility, stated that the distinctive wines in the wine cellar comprise the only five-star collection in the region.
Groups that wish to reserve the wine cellar at any time during the year are invited to consult with Zueger to select the menu that best fits their taste and budgets in advance.
One of the most beautiful landmarks in Warwick, the home of the Chateau Hathorn Restaurant is an authentically furnished 18th century private mansion built in 1832.
The Chateau boasts cathedral ceilings, wood carved interiors, a Victorian lounge, picturesque outdoor banquet area and luxurious accommodations along with fine food and wine. The five star restaurant was honored in the prestigious Zagat guide and Wine Spectator. And in Orange County, it was voted "Best" for both ambiance and "Wine List."
The stately elegance, Old World charm and five star rating for its continental cuisine can be traced to owners Dolph and Helene Zueger, both natives of Switzerland.
Dolph Zueger, who once cooked for the famous actress, Sophia Loren, was educated in the finest culinary schools in Europe. And, about 30 years ago, they became the proud owners of Warwick's Chateau Hathorn.
The restaurant became so well received and popular that in her roll as hostess, Helene Zueger knows many of her customers by name and often welcomes regular patrons who return on weekly basis.
Chef Dolph Zueger is not only an artist in the kitchen; he is a talented gardener, carpenter and builder.
Their daughter Sandra Zueger, who has a degree in marketing, has been working in the family restaurant for 21 years.
