Wild turkeys on the fly
| 20 Nov 2012 | 01:39

Wild turkeys take flight while crossing over Bellvale Lakes Road in Warwick last Thursday afternoon. According to the Web site birding.about.com, wild turkeys have powerful legs and can run at speeds up to 25 mph. Their top speed in flight is 55 mph. Domestic birds, on the other hand, are bred to be heavier so they provide more meat and therefore cannot fly.
