— "Who Let the Dogs Out?", the annual fundraiser for the Warwick Valley Humane Society, will be held at the Applewwod Winery on Saturday, June 1.

It's an opportunity for Warwick dogs and dog lovers to gather and have a tail wagging good time.

Registration is $10 for adults and $1 for children under 14 years of age. All proceeds benefit the Warwick Valley Humane Society.

The event begins at 11 a.m. with a scavenger hunt for the dogs and an opportunity for event goers to purchase photographs of their canine companions taken by professional photographer, Chris Babicke. The Applewood Winery gardens provide a picturesque backdrop for a portrait of your favorite pet.

The popular canine contests begin at noon with Best Tail Wagger, Best Costume, Best Trick, Best Kisser and more. Prizes and give-aways will be awarded to contest winners and participants. And there will be a heartwarming doggie parade featuring the adoptable dogs at the Warwick Valley Humane Society.

There will be other events for everyone including a "dog" art exhibit and an opportunity to try out an agility course and rally course with professional dog trainers Jim Epperly of Epps Dog Training and The Dog Coach, Jennifer Basile.

And event goers can purchase raffle tickets to enter a drawing to have an original oil painting of their own dog by local artist Carlisle Nostrame.

In addition, Canine Case Squad will provide obedience-training demonstrations to highlight the benefits of a well-trained dog.

There will also be crafts for children, dog trivia and a 50/50 raffle.

You may also wish to spiff up your dog's appearance with teeth brushing, ear cleaning and nail clipping by Dirty Dog Grooming. Canine handlers need pampering too, so treat yourself to some fun and exciting jewelry from Premiere Designs.

As with every weekend at the Applewood Winery, wine tastings are available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Courtyard Café will feature light fare and the Applewood Winery's signature sangria. There will be live music from 2 to 5 p.m. in the courtyard.

"Come enjoy the beautiful grounds of the Applewood Winery and put your best paw forward for the Warwick Valley Humane Society," said Suzyn Barron, president of the Society.
