Water main break on South Street soon to be resolved

WARWICK — No! This is not another flood after a storm.

The water surrounding the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce caboose office on South Street is actually the result of a difficult-to-locate water main break under the adjacent railroad right-of-way.

It’s a complicated problem involving the Village of Warwick, the Railroad Company and hiring an outside contractor but according to Mayor Michael Newhard steps are being taken to quickly resolve the problem.

And although there hasn’t been a significant pressure problem or loss of water storage, shut-off valves will be installed to isolate any future problems.
