Warwick youth headed for National Jr. Olympics

Jamestown, N.Y. — Jack Peddle, 8, an incoming third grader at Park Ave. Elementary School, competed in the regionals of the Jr. Olympics, held in Jamestown, N.Y. on July 13 and 14. The three events Jack competed in were the long jump, javelin and 1500 meter run. To be eligible to compete in the regional meet, Jack first qualified in the New Jersey state championships in each of the three events back in June in Palisades Park, N.J.
Jack is a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Track Club, which is part of a larger organization called the New Jersey Striders. Both groups are member organizations in the USATF (USA Track and Field), which sponsors the Jr. Olympics events.
During the Regionals, Jack qualified to advance to the National Jr. Olympics in Greensboro, N.C. in the 1500 meter run with time of 6:08.
