Warwick. Winning an uphill battle: The fight to save Glenmere’s wild lands

| 29 Apr 2025 | 11:31

Join ecologist Jay Westerveld, co-founder of the Glenmere Conservation Coalition, for a discussion of the Glenmere reservoir, wetlands and woodlands and the long, uphill battle to save the Hudson valley’s most biodiverse habitat from a multitude of different threats.

Glenmere’s unique biodiversity, including carnivorous plants, rare flowers, freshwater jellyfish and the state’s only “endangered” frog species will be discussed, along with the specific development threats that the coalition fought and how its members fought them.

Family-friendly, some live plants and animals will be featured.

The discussion is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, beginning at 6 p.m. at Albert Wisner Public Library in Warwick.
