Warwick Warwick Valley High School senior raising funds for veterans program

Lexi Cleary, a senior at Warwick Valley High School, is conducting her Senior Class Project for a cause that is near and dear to her heart. She’s raising funds for K9s for Warriors, the nation's largest provider of service dogs for disabled American veterans.
Lexi is holding a 5k walk on Saturday, May 11, at Warwick Woodlands Manor from 1 to 5 p.m. that will also include a large Tricky Tray, food, a bake sale, music, and fun.
Walkers are asked to be there at noon for registration as the walk starts promptly at 1 p.m.
The Tricky Tray, which already boasts 75 baskets, will start at 3 p.m.
“This charity really means a lot to me,” Cleary says. “My grandfather, who died a few years ago, had been in the military. Plus, I’ve always had a love of animals so this particular charity combines two things close to my heart. I hope we’re able to raise enough money to make a difference.”
K9s For Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to warriors suffering from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and/or Military Sexual Trauma as a result of military service post-9/11. The goal is to empower them to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.
Everyone is welcome and balloons will guide people as they enter Warwick Woodlands.
